Hi there! I’m Dr. Stasia McGlade. I’m a licensed clinical psychologist with a private practice based in Los Angeles, California.
I received my Bachelor’s degree from Cornell University, and my PhD in Clinical Psychology from UCLA under the mentorship of Dr. Michelle Craske. My clinical experiences include training at the UCLA Psychology Clinic, UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, and Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where I obtained focused training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I completed by clinical internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the West Los Angeles VA.
My research has focused on the etiology and treatment of anxiety and mood disorders, with particular emphasis on emerging methodologies to optimize exposure therapy. My work has been recognized by the National Science Foundation and published in peer-reviewed psychology journals. I remain committed to integrating the latest advances in research into my clinical practice and currently serve on the Clinical Translational Board for Behaviour Research and Therapy.
Before moving to Los Angeles nearly ten years ago, I grew up in the state of Oregon where I fell in love with the outdoors. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, running, traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending time with my family, friends, and dog Riley!
I approach therapy with warmth, compassion, nonjudgment, and cultural sensitivity. I strive to provide an environment that encourages authenticity, recognizing that therapy can be a vulnerable and challenging process that also offers an invaluable path towards healing and recovery. See my Services page for more information about the types of treatments I provide. If it seems like we may be a good fit, visit my Contact page to connect!
